But I think you’ll find this a good setup. I hope those help! It’s by far not everything to make Windows feel like a mac - some Windows things just don’t apply to Mac and vice versa. As you know, Windows has lots of key combinations that “do stuff"™. ❗ Do the mapping from Win -> Ctrl last Remap Shortcuts □ The “before” key goes on the left, and the “after” key on the right. Now it seems that the keyboard is using a different driver so that.
#MAC OS KEYBOARD MAPPING UPDATE#
Actually it all seems to be working fine UNTIL I updated the driver via Apple software update which included some additional bootcamp device driver. Anyone noticed this problem: Installed win10 64bit via bootcamp on 2015 MacBook Pro. When using a PC keyboard you would use windows ke圜 to copy and windows keyV to paste, etc. MacBook keyboard mapping in bootcamp/windows. The Windows key on your PC keyboard maps to your Macs Command key. You could also do this with the Windows key on the right, if you have one. The Control key on your PC keyboard maps to your Macs Control key. Since I was overriding the Windows key, I moved that up to Caps Lock, since I never use it anyway. This is basically making the Windows key to the left of the spacebar into the Ctrl key, which does similar things as the Cmd key on a Mac.
Take the first one in there - I mapped Page Up to the home key (that one wasn’t Mac specific - I just kept accidentally hitting it □). Like the heading says, you get to map a single key. The key feature (see what I did there?) of PowerToys that lets my keyboard be all apple-ey is the keyboard manager. There’s no cmd on Windows - it just opens the start menu. Muscle memory keeps kicking in and my thumbs reach for the cmd key instead of ctrl. I switched to Windows from Mac a few months back, and I’m used to just about everything except the keyboard. My first-favorite feature is Powertoys Run - the spotlight-like feature for Windows. These changes will ensure you get the greatest enjoyment out of your Das Keyboard.I wrote a bit about PowerToys previously, but today we’re gonna talk about my second-favorite feature: the keyboard manager.

In order to make things easier, we created a video to show you step-by-step how to set these keys up in the Apple layout. Go to the System Preferences, open Keyboard preferences, and change how the modifier keys are set for the option and command keys to remap your modifier keys.
Luckily, there is an easy process to fix this. On all PC keyboards the option and command buttons are inverted from the normal Apple layout, which can really mess you up if you aren’t ready for it. (Note that the 4Q and X50Q are compitible on Windows only.) Das Keyboards work fine on Macs, even the PC versions of the Prime 13, 4C TKL, 4 root and 4 Ultimate, but you will want to take the few minutes to set up your keyboard preferences correctly. If you’ve hesitated because you own a Mac, there’s no need. Whether it’s the audible clicking sound as you type, or the tactile feel of pressing each key, many will truely enjoy typing on on a Das Keyboard, and even see their typing speed significantly increase. Many Mac users might think a keyboard was just a keyboard, but after just a week, the differences between a Das Keyboard and Mac keyboards are endless.

Using a PC version of a Das Keyboard with a Mac, such as a MacBook Pro or iMac is a great experience.
